DSC_0948Five years ago, I left my home in Victoria, Canada and embarked on a totally random and somewhat uninformed adventure to the other side of the planet.

When I left I was 18 years old and really had no idea just how big the world was. As you can imagine, reality struck pretty quick.  I soon learned that Canada consists of ice, polar bears, hunting and Toronto according to the vast majority of the world and that I really knew nothing about the rest of the world either. The fact that my entire existence on one side of the planet could be totally non-existant on the other was oddly refreshing.

After 5 years in Bangkok, I left with what I believe to be a somewhat more balanced concept of east and west. Although I still have a long way to go in experiencing the world, I have acknowledged the fact that what I know is nothing and I believe this is a step in the right direction. If you check back with me in another five years, I will probably have a completely new concept of life, but I’ll leave it at that for now.

After graduating with a Bba in Marketing, I recently returned home to be closer to family and to start my own business, a collection of silk loungewear under the brand ÉLISE. Please join me as I strive to make pajama dressing an everyday attire, as well as working grow my APOE community.

A Piece of Elise is a creative outlet in which I channel all my fashion obsessed energy into something productive. Here you find all the things that inspire me in hopes that they inspire you too. It is a wonderful feeling to have finally worked up the courage to share with the world what interests me most.

This blog is dedicated to all the things my parents have taught me, my friends have shown me and that Bangkok has thrown at me.

I cannot even believe that this girl is the same age as me… she puts me to shame to be honest! She features everything from the expensive Marc by Marc Jacobs right down to my favourite wallet-friendly Joe Fresh items, pairing them beautifully and realistically as well! […]
