October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and RETHINK breast cancer is back which all kinds of great initiatives and ways to support their movement to empower young people affected by the disease. The Canadian Cancer Society has found that one in nine women is expected to develop breast cancer in her lifetime, so it really is an illness that we should all have some knowledge of and be open to talking about. This is what RETHINK is all about.

Breast Cancer mortality rates have decreased by 44% since 1987 thanks to early detection with mammography screening and improved treatments, so by opening up the conversation to women of all ages, is it clear that we can help reduce the impact of this disease.  Through education, support, research and advocacy directly tailored for the young women at risk of breast cancer, RETHINK aims to fill the gap in messaging and community resources for those under 40.

During October, there are all kinds of global and local businesses coming together to support RETHINK through creating the limited edition “pink” products we all love so much and which raise money for the cause. And seriously, they’re really good this year. I mean, this Ardene’s X Barbie Tee, and the boobs “OK” from H&M are legit the best t-shirts I’ve found in awhile. I have also been trying the Knixwear bra and I’ve got to say, it might be the comfiest bra I’ve ever worn. The Hydraluron Moisture Jelly is full of hyaluronic acid, which we all know I love. The EOS Pink edition is cute as can be. This stunning Jenny Bird rose gold and pearl necklace has been living on my neck since I got it. Long story short, there are too many good things to shop and support the cause. Click here for a full list of RETHINK products to shop and details of how they give back.

The iconic Boobyball is also back this October for its 16th year. This party is RETHINK’s flagship annual fundraising event and although I haven’t been yet, I’ve been told it’s pretty epic. Tickets are available here and I’m linking a youtube video here to get you excited. This year’s theme is an 80s inspired “Get Physical”, so it’s going to be a blast. Hope to see you all there!

Note: There are also Boobyball events in Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa and Halifax.
