They say that if you want a really expensive bag you should wait. Well how long are you supposed to wait? If it’s been about a year do you finally deserve to get that purse? In the case of this specific bag, well it’s not even a bag, this BACKPACK of dreams, I’ve been waiting for at least 12 months. However, I am going to have to wait at least 12 more. Unfortunately, the waiting a year rule only applies if you actually have the money to buy the item when the time is up. Fail.
But seriously, there is something totally perfect about backpacks. They are so convenient. If you are like me and fill your purse up with half your bedroom, you will understand what it’s like to get those horrid arm indentations from your 10 kg purse handles. I think bicep curls only work if it’s being held in your hand, so there really is no advantage.
I’ve been into carrying stuff around since I was a kid. According to my parents, I would fill about ten bags with things and carry them ALL around the house. I would also wear totally insane outfits. Then people would follow me around to take pictures and I would cry because I didn’t understand why. I’m still traumatized.
Anyways, I really think everyone should get a good backpack. I recently bought a black and white polka dot one that I wear everyday to school. Although it’s only big enough for my books, which means I still need a purse; at least my purse won’t make me end up in physical therapy.
But let’s get back to the bag at hand – The Proenza Schouler Backpack. It was released for the Fall season of 2013 and I was instantly in love. All I could think about was how many times I would willingly go back and forth from school so that I could wear it. A+++. With the signature clip closure and the school satchel dangling straps, it was basically perfection.
The backpack continues to frequently pop up on media and magazines just teasing me with it’s awesomeness. Did I mention it fits a laptop? Or even a spare pair of shoes? In the hangover he says, “It’s not a purse it’s a satchel”. In this case I don’t think it’s a backpack, I think it’s just pure Proenza Schouler.
One day this backpack will be mine. Until then, black and white polka dots will suffice.
