Shop The Look

Big news! I’m moving (well, in all honesty, I’ve already moved). I couldn’t have asked for a better first year back in Canada, but I’ve decided to do something new for 2017. After one year of catching up with family in my hometown, I’ve decided to move to the big city. I couldn’t be more excited about it!

I arrived in Toronto last week and have been doing some serious apartment hunting since then. I think I’ve finally found one! Fingers crossed for me, guys. It has been a stressful process. I have resorted to afternoon wine on a few occasions. Please bare with me if I’m a little bit absent and distracted over the coming week as I slowly get my life more organized. I promise to do an in-depth update really soon! I love the city so far – I just walk around smiling! It all feels so alive. I can’t wait to share all kinds of amazing content with you from my new home in Toronto. I am also excited for all the opportunities here where there is so much happening all the time.

In the meantime, this Parajumpers coat has literally been saving my life! I chose the most oversized fur collar they had because it looks and feels so luxurious. The coat is lined with down, so putting it on makes me instantly warm. There is both a zipper and button closure, so no wind or snow can get through. The water repelling finish also keeps out coffee spills (I know from experience). I have been living in this parka since my arrival in Toronto and people on the street are always asking me where it’s from. Everyone just loves it!

The original inspiration for the brand began in a bar in Anchorage where the designer met a serving member of the local 210th Rescue Squadron. Their team is trained for rescues in the most remote and hostile corners of the globe, as well as parachute rescuing, so have been given the name Parajumpers. Through combining the technical requirements of the Parajumper’s gear with the perfectly stylized aspects of urban outerwear, Parajumpers parkas are the perfect outdoor accessory. In fact, mine is currently the only jacket I have in Toronto with me and I don’t mind at all. Parajumpers can be found at Andrews, Due West and Live Out There in Toronto.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places to visit and things to do in the city? There is so much going on, so I can’t decide what to do first! Also, I have no friends (lol), so please let me know if you’re in the city and you like fashion! Yay!

Also, these photos were taken at Hatley Castle before I left. It’s what they used as the school in the X-Men movies! How cool is that? This leather choker was a local Victoria collaboration between Covet & Keep and Jovee Handcrafted. It says “Bitch Please” in braille and I’m basically obsessed.
