If you live in Victoria, you have surely been to Bernstein & Gold on the corner of Yates and Government Street (if you haven’t you should go!!!). For those of you who aren’t from the city, you may be familiar with Bernstein & Gold as the boutique that has been carrying my ÉLISE silk pajamas. The shop was established in 1992, so it has been around almost as long as I have making it a real institution here in Victoria. With a perfectly curated selection of brands, there are women in the city whose entire wardrobes are from within the walls of Bernstein & Gold, so it really is a special place. With all this in mind, I’m so excited to announce that they have officially launched an online store! Now, regardless of where you are in the world, you can shop Bernstein & Gold‘s collection of beautiful things!
What I really love about boutiques is how they select only their favourite items from within a brand’s seasonal collection making the shopping experience more streamlined and refined. When you find a boutique whose style really pulls on your heartstrings, you essentially end up with the items of your dreams all in one place! There aren’t the same distractions or extraneous things that you might find in a department store or flagship, so boutiques can have the ability to feel so inspiring. Plus, you’re supporting small business and who wouldn’t want to do that?
With the ever-changing dynamic of e-commerce, boutiques are now finding themselves with the ability to open online shops of their own giving us access to their selections of curated clothing from all over the world. I love the idea of ordering something that I know is coming from a beautiful place like Bernstein & Gold, so go check out their website when you have the chance to see if it fills some of your fashion dreams too.
With brands like Equipment (you know I love silk), Elizabeth & James (MK & A are my faves), DVF, LINE, By Malene Birger, Smythe and many more, Bernstein & Gold has so much amazing fashion. In honour of the launch of their online store, I have styled five amazing looks for various occasions; three of which are in this post with two more coming soom. Some of the pieces I’m wearing are on sale with potentially the best prices on the internet, so keep your eyes peeled for those items too. Enjoy!
“I may be running errands at Whole Foods, but I still want to look chic”
You really can’t beat a combination of black denim, silk shirt, bright knit and leather jacket. It’s just so classic and cool. The sweater is By Malene Birger and is the perfect colour for spring. The silk shirt is Equipment (the star print is one sale here). The jeans are Mother Denim and can be found here (a sale alternative here). The silver and pearl earrings are linked here.

“Let’s go drink champagne at brunch wearing leopard prints and silk”
This outfit is proof that leopard on leopard on start print on cobalt blue totally works. These By Malene Birger crepe trousers have the dreamiest fringe detail on the bottom and look oh-so-chic, but basically feel like pajamas. We all need them! This Equipment silk shirt might also be one of my favourite shirts ever (I’ve been wearing it for four days straight). This knit cardigan is also By Malene Birger and is the most beautiful cobalt blue. The shoes are Pour La Victoire and can be found on sale here.

“I want to enjoy this dinner in a blazer and chapeau, duh”
There’s something so androgynous about this look that makes me feel way cooler than I actually am. If I listened to live Jazz often, I would probably do so wearing this outfit. If you’ve never worn a Smythe blazer before you’ve been totally missing out. Plus, this one is currently on sale here! The faux fur stole is Ted Baker, the hat is Canadian Hat, the camisole and trousers are By Malene Birger and are all available at Bernstein & Gold.
