Rifflandia take places in Victoria around the middle September every year. Although this may not seem like the ideal season after a summer filled with sunny festivals, I like having one more musical weekend to look forward to as Fall arrives. It had been many years since I last attended the festival due to my time abroad, so I was really excited to see how it had grown and evolved.
It was my first festival of summer in which I wasn’t camping (yup, camping), so I was really looking forward to having fun with my outfits. Although it rained one day and I missed another day, I still had 2 fabulous days of fun dressing. I wore one outfit which was named the ‘Yakuza Pirate’ by Ian which involved a large Saint Lauren type bow and Japanese inspired bomber. My second outfit was for the safari themed day which was composed of a leopard and palm print combo on myself, vintage fur and lion print silk on one sister, as well as with khaki pants, linen shirt and Tilley hat on the other. For the rainy day I stole Ian’s skull McQueen scarf, so that was cool enough in itself.
It was at some point during the second day that we realized our media passes allowed us into the photo pit, making for the ultimate Instagram story – hope you got the chance to watch! With epic headliners like Jurassic 5, Band of Skulls, De La Soul and many more, it was a memorable weekend which I was fortunate to spend with my two younger sisters by my side. I’m already looking forward to Rifflandia next year.
One more thing before I go: I had the opportunity to try my first bag from Ela Handbags for the festival and I’m totally in love! They’re beautifully designed and very well made. Not sponsored, just highly recommended. Use my discount code ‘APieceofElise_15’ for 15% off!
