The arrival of October will mark the first anniversary of my return to Victoria. After my time abroad, being at home has allowed me to explore the new shopping, food and sights that the city has to offer. It has also granted me the ability revisit my old favourites, to enjoy once again what I loved about them and to see how they’ve evolved.
The historic downtown core a has played an integral part of my daily life in Victoria. I have always loved to explore the back alleys, walk the inner harbour, enjoy the beautiful old buildings or drink bubble teas in Chinatown. Nestled in the midst of these special places is The Bay Centre, which I’ve been frequenting since I was a teenager and continue to visit today. For this reason, I am both honoured and excited to be partnering with them over the coming months as a part of their #LoveLifeBayCentre campaign.
In my early days of shopping at The Bay Centre, I frequented Claire’s like it was my job and spent all my allowance on Roxy clothes from Quiksilver. In my later teens I could be found buying jeans from Guess, ballet flats from Aldo and the faux leather moto jackets at Le Chateau. Even my high school prom dress was from BCBGMaxazria which is now available in The Bay Centre.
These days, I often find myself shopping at the Hudson’s Bay Downtown for their amazing selection of shoes, bags and cosmetics. I’m always heading back to BCBGMaxazria for evening dresses and Aldo for pumps and sandals. I literally swoon over everything at Club Monaco and can’t live without The Body Shop’s coconut body butter. Samich Cafe makes some of the best cookies I’ve ever had and an afternoon bellini at Earl’s Kitchen + Bar is one guilty pleasure I will never be able to kick…
To launch my partnership with The Bay Centre‘s #LoveLifeBayCentre campaign, we created a fun video which I’m so excited to share with you in this post. After selecting six beautiful outfits from the shopping centre’s retailers, we set out to film at some our favourite downtown locations. If you watched my behind the scenes Instagram story, you saw that we dragged the clothing rack wherever we went. Combining epic fashion with Victoria sights like Ship’s Point, Waddington Alley, or the Legislature made it easy to love life with The Bay Centre.
For me, fashion is not about others, but about the individual. I see clothing as a means of bringing what’s inside out. For this reason, I am proud to be a part of the #LoveLifeBayCentre initiative because that’s a lot of what this campaign is all about; combining a love for fashion with a love of life and ensuring that both notions are nourishing each other.
I look forward to bringing you lots of inspiring content with The Bay Centre over the coming months. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the video! Let me know your thoughts in the comments and be sure to enter for the chance at a $100 gift card here.
