As far as I’m concerned, jewelry should be easy. If I can’t put something on and wear it for a few days in a row, then I probably won’t ever wear it. My favourite silver bangles don’t seem to get in the way when I sleep, so I virtually rock them for weeks at a time. I have also come to realize that silver is my colour. I have a relentlessly red face, so I prefer to stay away from the warm tones of gold. Isn’t it weird what we can be self conscious about? Plus silver tones match my new grey hair colour. Oh, and I think we should all wear gold and silver together sometimes in protest of those fashion “rules”.
In Grade 10, I knew a girl named Fiona who said she would work in fashion. Eating Smarties was all I could really think about at that age, so I never really took her statements too seriously. It turns out that Fiona was dead set on doing what she dreamed of, so she founded Wolf Circus right as she started University. By the time she graduated, Fiona had created one of the most successful jewelry collections to come out of our city. Six years later, people are still talking about how they went to school with Fiona, or how their sister knows Fiona or they saw her in a store once. Basically, Fiona is famous!
Local celebrity aside, Wolf Circus is a collection of beautifully unique, yet perfectly simple jewelry in either silver or gold. It’s one of those brands where I can confidently choose anything knowing that I’m not going to get tired of it, nor will it go out of style. Basically Wolf Circus is what all the Vancouver cool kids wear, so I wanted to wear some too!
